The scene

Measures a lot. Takes up little.

MICROCLIMATE Guard is TEKNE's environmental and structural monitoring device. In a tiny volume it reads eight physical quantities at once — from the air around it to the vibrations of the materials that support it.

Many sensors in a single 4 cm object: this is where reach matters, wherever you need a great deal of information and the smallest possible footprint.

The challenge

Knowing, in real time, what is happening in the surrounding environment and in the materials.

Preserving a work of art — or monitoring a structure — means continuously knowing the state of the environment and of the materials. Traditional systems are bulky, or they read a single quantity.

What was needed was a small device, able to measure many things at once, to stay on for more than a year without maintenance, to keep the data safe — and to move without redesign from the museum hall to the building.

Our role

Not on the margins. At the heart of the product.

COMMOEDIA is an integral and strategic part of MICROCLIMATE Guard — inside the object, not beside it. The design of the hardware's functionality, the industrial design of the casing you see above, the firmware that «gives voice» to eight sensors, the software that gathers, interprets, returns and displays the data in a way that is simple and clear for anyone, the market positioning, the product and service communication.

It is the same multi-competence that defines us: design, electronics and code under one roof. This is why «the special effect» is not an illusion — the device really does what it promises, because someone truly built it, from object to data.

The technology

A lot of technology. In a few millimetres.

MICROCLIMATE Guard measures environment and structure in the same instant, inside the same object: eight physical quantities, six of environment and two of structure. The datalogger retrieves the data from the Multisensors — on a timing agreed with the client during analysis — and sends it to the cloud, where processing takes place and the visualization is served.

It stays on for over a year thanks to the rechargeable battery; to extend autonomy an Energy harvesting technique with embedded micro solar panels is implemented. Every reading is kept safe: locally on FRAM memory, in the cloud through the datalogger.

Immediate, available and readable data — which also serves to train artificial intelligence systems to build forecasts. It is this technological density, rare in such a small object, that made the patent possible.

Where we are

From a museum hall to a portfolio of buildings.

Born in the museum field, MICROCLIMATE Guard quickly gathers interest in the monitoring of civil structures. The direction is clear: from real-time data to prediction, wherever you need to know a great deal with a device that weighs almost nothing.

A sensor that, instead of merely recording, understands where it is.
